WordPress Plugins

I have written a number of small WordPress plugins, some of which are listed here:

Tango Emotes

Tango Emotes is a plugin to replace the default smileys in WordPress with Tango-styled ones.

:) :( ;) :monkey:

The plugin is licensed under the GNU GPL, as it is a derivative of WordPress, and the smileys themselves are licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 2.5 license.

Download

tango-emotes-0.1.tar.gz

Deflate the tarball relative to the /wp-content/plugins/ directory. If you administer a WordPress MU site, and you want to install Tango Emotes as a ‘mu-plugin’, leave the tango-emotes directory in /wp-content/plugins/, but move tango-emotes.php to /wp-content/mu-plugins/.

Not all smileys will continue to keep working with Tango Emotes enabled. For example, the  smiley is gone, as well as some others.

Mini Mugshot

Mini Mugshot is a plugin that allows you to add to a WordPress post/page/sidebar the Mugshot feature of the same name.

If you have the fauxML plugin, you can insert your Mini Mugshot into any post or page. All you need to do is type:

[mugshot url]

Where url is the link to your profile page on Mugshot (you can find it simply by clicking the Mugshot logo when logged in). My Mugshot URL is http://mugshot.org/person?who=G3yH5GwMpAN1DW, so I would enter the following:

[mugshot http://mugshot.org/person?who=G3yH5GwMpAN1DW]

To get this:

[mugshot http://mugshot.org/person?who=G3yH5GwMpAN1DW]

For different sizes/styles, you can use the following instead, which will give you the alternative styles outlined on the Mini Mugshot page:

  • [mugshot-mini url]
  • [mugshot-3 url]
  • [mugshot-5 url]
  • [mugshot-nowplaying url]

Alternatively, if you have a theme with a wide sidebar (Mini Mugshot’s width is 250 pixels), you can add your Mini Mugshot to your sidebar. Just go to Presentation → Widgets, and add the Mini Mugshot widget. Don’t forget to paste in your profile URL.

Download

Grab mugshot.php and place it in your wp-content/plugins directory. If you’re interested, you can access the bzr branch for the plugin.
